This makes me so happy! Couple of questions: any likelihood of recommendations in PA? And, how does one keep rodents at bay when not at a place full-time? Thanks so much for doing this!
Hi Jen! Hm, maybe I'll expand recommendations down to PA. There are actually a few places I've stayed while traveling through buying antiques that I could share!
Ah yes, mice. Here are my tips: if you keep food in a pantry cabinet make sure it closes fully and securely, set traps when you leave (we usually do 3-4), two common things that actually help keep them away - Irish Spring soap and dryer sheets (I put dryer sheets on our bed, couch etc and put soap bars under furniture), we use a rodent repellent spray (which is basically just peppermint & cinnamon oil) around the perimeter of the cabin 1x a month. We've been very lucky and haven't had much rodent activity at our cabin, but we also don't have insulation so that definitely helps. But I try and remind myself that mice are just a part of life, especially when you have a cabin in the woods that people don't live in full time, and so I'm actively trying to keep them out but don't freak out too much if I see signs of them. Hope this is helpful! :)
